Our founding company DataHouse is seeking a Network/Systems Engineer to join our team. The Network/Systems Engineer is responsible for helping to ensure all system infrastructure, high system availability (24/7 outside of scheduled maintenance windows), adequate system performance and no data loss. Also will help design solutions that fulfill these requirements and work closely with Application Specialists and the Development team to ensure that infrastructure requirements are met and that all projects are completed promptly and thoroughly. This person will also work closely with System Administrators to communicate the designs and implement solutions.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Help oversee daily operation of all infrastructure, including comprehensive and timely maintenance (both preventative and corrective) for all systems
  • Help plan, coordinate, schedule and perform infrastructure maintenance for all systems
  • Support and troubleshoot systems and network infrastructure, and act as second level support for system issues
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Help ensure and maintain production security via industry standard technologies and best practices
  • Help analyze system performance/utilization patterns and trends to forecast future requirements and plan accordingly
  • Help manage systems inventory including acquisition, tracking, repair and maintenance. Ensure availability of backup spare parts or units in the event of device failure
  • Help manage test equipment and tool inventory including needs identification, acquisition and training
  • Help establish policies and procedures related to the overall corporate systems (i.e., network, server and other infrastructure such as cloud) management
  • Maintain documentation including policies and procedures, network diagrams, asset inventory and maintenance agreements
  • Keep current on technology and industry trends
  • Help maintain and monitor network performance levels
  • Help plan and execute the migration and/or integration of server and network systems


Desired Qualifications


  • 2-4 years experience in a corporate IT environment
  • Cisco IOS experience related to configuring 802.1.q interfaces, access, trunk, etherchannel, link aggregation, subnet masking, spanning tree, gateways, DHCP, 802.1x port security, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and wireless
  • In-dept experience with Wide Area and Local Area Networks
  • Experience with Wide Area and Local Area Networks
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
  • Willing and able to respond to infrastructure issues after the standard business hours and available by phone 24x7
  • Professionalism and effectiveness of communication and planning for all the internal technical services
  • Provide high availability to all production network and servers
  • Experience in VMWare management and SAN management
  • Experience with networking protocols including TCP/IP, WAN services, SAN and iSCSI
  • Ability to effecively self-manage time and resources, and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively within all organizational levels and in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrate flexibility, agility and change management skills
  • Analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience and success in a customer support environment expressing a pleasant and patient demeanor
  • Prior experience with conflict resolution
  • Ability to develop relationships with the other members of the department and business communities
