Job Summary:

The RCM Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the RCM Business Managers and the overall success of the RCM process. Maintains a courteous and professional demeanor in providing customer service; ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and carry them through to completion in a timely and efficient manner; ability to problem solve, research, document and communicate results while working independently.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely processing of claims
  • Manages charge and payment batches, including preparing support documents for scanning
  • Entry of claim note annotation as needed
  • Works through completion of daily correspondences; mail, faxes, appeals, refunds, and errors
  • Serves as main point of contact for escalated or unresolved PAR calls needing further research
  • Collaborates with offshore support team to resolve follow-up, payment and charge issues
  • Other duties as assigned or requested

 

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Managed or health care background a plus
  • Recent experience processing medical claims
  • Proficient PC skills and knowledge: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent typing and 10-key skills
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must be motivated and be a self-starter
  • Understanding of pertinent regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA
  • Demonstrates internal customer service focus

 

Physical requirements: 

  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Working as a desktop or laptop computer
  • Talking/listening on the telephone and reading
  • Good vision is required for working with a computer, computer monitor, and details in paperwork
