In your role as the Payroll/Benefits Specialist, you will serve as a key member of the 'ike HR Foundational Services team and be responsible for the biweekly processing of payroll for the family of companies, as well as various HR responsibilities including benefits administration. This position contributes in the following ways:

  • Analyzes, prepares, and processes payroll using the HR/Payroll systems in an accurate and timely manner while ensuring compliance to all federal and state laws
  • Reviews and executes electronic time and attendance processing.
  • Utilizes reporting tools to analyze, prepare, and reconcile payroll/benefits data while ensuring the integrity of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and the Payroll system.
  • Assists the 401(k) Plan Administrator with various duties
  • Administers Group Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Long-Term Disability, and Long-Term Care Insurance.
  • Completes required reporting when necessary, e.g. W-2, 5500, etc.
  • Organizes and coordinates the bi-annual Open Enrollment.
  • Communicates the company benefits package to employees.
  • Responsible for the timely payment of benefit premiums. Reconciles and resolves enrollment and billing discrepancies.
  • Maintains personnel, benefits, and payroll records.
  • Supports the Human Resources team with operational functions, key initiatives/projects, and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience and 1+ year of benefits experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and MS Office; Experience with UltiPro (Ultimate Software) is preferred.
  • Experience partnering with payroll/benefits third party administrators, e.g. ProService, is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • Solid knowledge of federal and state payroll and employment laws and practices.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information/data and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines, while maintaining keen attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent follow-through, judgment, common sense, and positive demeanor ("make it happen" attitude).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and professionally within a team, across an organization, and with vendors.
