The Facilities Manager position reports to the President of 'ike and was created for the purpose of planning, organizing, and managing the maintenance, repair, and operational safety and compliance of company buildings and equipment.

Candidates must have solid management experience and leadership qualities with a positive can-do attitude. This position needs a highly organized person who can excel in competently juggling multiple responsibilities, pays attention to detail, has excellent listening skills, can work well with all types of people, and can remain calm under stressful conditions.  Applicants must have experience in construction project management; commercial building maintenance; scheduling; knowledge about maintenance tools, equipment, and systems; understanding of inventory management; the ability to read blueprints and knowledge of landlord/tenant regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the 'ike Family of Companies Safety Officer to ensure all work performed and equipment used meets or exceeds OSHA standards
  • Acts as a first responder for building related matters and assists with on-site troubleshooting and working with building management
  • Supervises the front desk/facilities coordinator position in addition to operational duties such as mail/post services, space management, and parking
  • Works independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve company and/or department objectives
  • Ensures that all company assets are cataloged, maintained in safe operating condition, and are budgeted for replacement prior to or at the end of their operational life
  • Oversees projects (i.e. repairs, new construction, re-orgs., etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completion within established time frames, project design, and budget
  • Inspect building structures at least annually to determine the need for repairs and/or renovations
  • Prepare an annual budget for new equipment and/or items that have reached their end of life
  • Develops standards and procedures as business needs evolve
  • Approve and signoff on facility and maintenance expenditures
  • Prepares RFP's for all 3rd party contracts
  • Manages maintenance helpdesk system
  • Performs additional job duties as requested

Education/Training and Experience

  • 5+ years relevant experience; Facilities Management Certificate (FMC) or Building Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC) highly preferred
  • 3+ years of manager or supervisory experience required
  • Strong understanding of desktop operating systems to include; Microsoft Office Suite and Auto CAD
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team oriented who works collaboratively with others
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage ambiguity
  • Strong procurement and negotiation skills
