The Business Advisory Services Manager/Practice Leader is an integral member of DataHouse Consulting leadership team, helping our clients accelerate their digital transformation journey and helping DataHouse Consulting grow and sell our business advisory services practice area and develop our people. The Business Advisory Services Manager will:
- Manage DataHouse's team of business analysts that conduct business consulting and business analysis services on technology consulting and technology delivery projects.
- Lead the Business Advisory Services practice: growing our brand and partnerships, and working with the sales team to promote the value of the practice to current and potential clients.
- Develop the business advisory services practice area by enhancing the practice's offerings, maintaining a library of artifacts, templates, and case studies relevant to the practice.
- Drive the successful implementation of client projects served by the practice.
- Lead the practice's recruitment and development efforts, building a diverse and welcoming team culture.
This position can be based from a home office anywhere in the US or at our beautiful headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Travel will be expected either to our headquarters, and/or client and partner offices.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
practice work:
- Build, recruit, run and maintain the Business Advisory Services practice
- Commercial ownership of the practice: revenue, profitability, utilization
- Participate in DataHouse leadership governance activities such as: resourcing and scheduling, quality reviews, quarterly business reviews, etc.
- Lead business development activities for Consulting opportunities
- Lead research & development for practice - latest trends, innovations, and best practices
- Direct, nurture and coach the team and perform career counselling
client work:
- Review, plan, lead and execute practice activities required to improve optimize project delivery for our clients - from pure consulting engagements to large technology transformation projects.
- Lead the discovery, activation and shaping of new projects and client initiatives
- Apply a commercial mindset throughout the engagement (e.g. supporting contracts, statements of work, invoices, scheduling, expenses, leave approval etc.) while also developing further opportunities and associated account plans.
- Coordinate with DataHouse's service line leadership to ensure smooth onboarding and transition to 'run' service.
- Ensure the quality of the work delivered meets client expectations and is done in accordance with DataHouse's service delivery methodology.
- Get hands-on with the work, beyond leading and directing - produce artifacts e.g. workshop facilitation decks, creating testing strategies, defining success measurement plans, designing operating models, assessing organizational maturity etc.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing complex business relationships, ideally with a Big 4 consulting company
- 5+ years of technology domain experience, spanning people, process, and technology
- Experience managing a team of consultants
- Bachelor's degree required, and a graduate degree preferred
